What you're actually paying for

Every tier sees current, correct data — nobody's score is delayed and nobody's rank is stale. What changes tier to tier is how finely you can watch a number move (yearly, monthly, daily) and how much structure you can get into once you're looking at it (seeing that a cluster exists, reading what's inside one, or being told the moment it changes).

FAQ

Common questions

What is a research packet?

A research packet is a markdown briefing you create from any cluster, element, or reading list in Elements Live. It includes the papers, scores, and structure behind what you're looking at — formatted so you can drop it straight into Claude, ChatGPT, or any LLM to continue the research conversation without retyping.

How do packet credits and sharing work?

Creating a packet costs one credit. Free and Personal users get a monthly allowance (15 and 25 credits respectively) — more than enough for one packet per weekday. Sharing a packet is always free. If someone creates an account through your shared link and upgrades to a paid tier, you earn credits as a referral bonus — so your best research can pay you back. Professional and Enterprise users have no creation limits.

What is RIS?

Research Intensity Score: a 0-to-1 read on how much of the world's current scientific attention an element holds, weighted by how much its recent papers are actually being cited — not just how many came out.

Is the data ever delayed?

No. Every tier, including Free and logged-out browsing, sees the same current RIS and rank for every element. Nothing is held back or shown late — what differs tier to tier is resolution and depth, not freshness.

Is there a free tier?

Yes, and it never expires. The full interactive periodic table, all 118 element pages, current scores and ranks, the 100-year arc, velocity, the 10-year trends report, and browsing up to 100 papers per element are all open with no account and no credit card. Creating a free account adds favourites, paper bookmarking, and a first research packet.

Can I cancel Personal anytime?

Yes — it's month-to-month with no lock-in. Cancel from your account page and you'll keep access through the end of the period you already paid for.
